Women's Volleyball Wins Conference

The Lady Gophers fought with hand and foot to win the conference finals this weekend against Rocky Flats University Rebels, claiming their third championship in five years.

With the score tied at 3-3, Jenni Powers pushed forward for 2 points in less than 3 minutes, and they never looked back. "I have to thank my team members for creating great opportunities for me to score. I couldn't have done it alone" stated Powers. The final score against the Rebels was 10-6. "This is a great team. They have put in so much time and effort and 100% deserve this championship" says Tricia Henderson, the head coach of the women's volleyball team. The Lady Gopher's final record for the 2012 season stands at 13-4.
